This cycle shows up in business as well as politics. High profit margins are due to some kind of blurring of truth (brand A is 10% better than brand X but costs 50% more), while startups begin with a core of truth.

Could this be molded into an argument for natalism? As long as you spread your resources on your offspring you can keep being the underdog.

Not really, because kids often end up being the first generation to earnestly believe the doctrines their parents invented.
