I had no actual historical knowledge of this topic, btw. The only clue I had to go on was how EXTREMELY FUCKING OBVIOUS it was that Berry’s speech on extinguishing the light in slaves’ souls was sarcastic.

The lesson is just like what Justine Sacco taught us: if you’re woke, and you say to your opponents “OMG, listen! This is what you sound like!” then history will remember you as a monster, because History has poor reading comprehension.
