So this undergrad kid "debunks" my book along with a bunch of other scholarship on the causes of the racial wealth gap and says that slavery and fed policy had nothing to do with it and it all comes down to culture. And guess who endorses his completely garbage argument?https://twitter.com/SamHarrisOrg/status/1019796126873006080 …

This is as far as I could stomach "Black women were 14 percent more likely to own a luxury vehicle, 16 percent more likely to purchase costume jewelry, and 9 percent more likely to purchase fine jewelry." had to move on after seeing where this was heading.

This kid is going to have a long and profitable career and end up on tons of panels with the likes of Sam Harris, Amy Wax, Ben Shapiro, Jordyn Peterson, etc. Grift is lucrative these days and there's always a market niche for POC that claim racism doesn't exist.

@MehrsaBaradaran I have never claimed that "racism doesn't exist." Your making up claims I've never said and ascribing mercenary motives to me. I think we are both honest, well-intentioned people who happen to have different perspectives.16 replies 11 retweets 229 likes -

I hope that's the case. I do think we have a different perspective, Coleman. I believe you that your motives are pure, but I worry about some of the motives of your promoters.
