It was a tactical mistake for free-speech absolutists to defend Milo without specifying that they were defending him as an extreme example of speech, not because his speech is valuable per se.

Who can really say whether burning a book for being Jüdische Physik is less valuable speech than theoretical physics? Besides Oppenheimer, Groves, Conant, Feynman, Truman—those guys could determine a pretty clear answer.
