Men like to fight, whether boxing, arguments, musical competition. Arguing who's the best 2nd baseman in '78 with RBI stats-- ritualized combat, whether in a bar or on Wiki.

Pretty much. There’s a long tail of edits that take the form “No, the optimal strategy for using Raichu is NOT notable.”
-
I heard about one guy who made many edits and all he did was fix comma errors. On the spectrum maybe, but definitely male. Saw a long 'talk' section argument about what year some part of a Chevy carburetor was modified.

The same nerdforce arguing L/D b.d., that examines minute reasons/values/facts/context, also produces Aquinas, Kant, Newton, Darwin, Tesla. You don't get the latter without the former coming along for the ride. Think of Newton's decades studying Solomon's temple, date of Rapture.
-
Yeah, Newton is an amazing example of this phenomenon, especially since he thought the eschatology was way more important than the math.
-
He is the original 4-panel-brightening-brain meme. I can only imagine him sallying forth on Twitter about eschatology, corrupt coinage, and flamewars with Leibniz.
