They way it shows instead of tells... it's harrowing but I like it

They did their research. I learned a lot of it in my Health Physics studies, I'm glad they did this!!

Also one of the most accurate portrayals of the Soviet setting. I was sold the moment they've shown the exact same phone we had in our apartment back in episode 1.

That last conversation between Legasov and Shcherbina, amazing. One of the best relationship arcs I've ever seen on TV.

Yeah but we need to stop vilifying nuclear power it might be the only thing that can save the environment. The renewables can’t cut it in the timeframe scientists have given us. Sorry to be a downer.

The show doesn’t vilify nuclear power at all. It just talks to the nature of lies. Does it cover a nuclear disaster that happened? Yes. It does not make that nuclear power the enemy in any way.

Definitely made me go down a rabbit hole on researching different nuclear reactor designs, and there strengths and weaknesses. Being that nuclear energy will be a necessary part of the future, better know what we are building.

What's sad about Chernobyl is apparently the accident could have been avoided. The workers were incredibly loyal at the end. I'd like to think I would have mutinied and got everyone to restrain that madman supervisor.
