I just want to do some good in this world. I will fuck up, I will listen, and I will learn. That will, I believe, allow me to do even more good. I also hold an expectation of you all to do the same. Be strong for your heart and mind, but also be willing to admit your mistakes.
In my mind, there is no greater example of personal strength and maturity than being willing to see another’s perspective and admit that you were wrong. To be right isn’t always victory, and to be wrong isn’t always a loss. Sometimes, you may find both sides hold some truth.
The world is filled with a lot of anger right now, with MUCH of it very legitimate. If both sides shout without a willingness to listen, a willingness to change their mind, then in the long run we accomplish nothing more than noise. (I know there are limits to this as well)
Its not an easy ask, I know, but those who see others hurting and can spare the energy to help lift them up... do so. There is also no shame in knowing you may not have the strength to be that friend to someone now, but aspire to be when you can.
Ultimately, when you boil it all down past the words and boundaries, most everyone just wants to be happy and be loved. Most everyone deserves that. At the root of it, one’s happiness should never be mutually exclusive to another’s.
Even when you feel forgotten, as many of us do at times, you are not. There is a lot of noise, so reach out when you need to be seen. If you see someone who extends a hand for connection, consider accepting that hand if but for a moment and connect.
Anyway...no reason I’m posting this than feeling philosophical/hopeful about the future in seeing the small changes for the good whenever I witness them. There may be a lot of darkness, but the growing lights that fight it are brilliant. <3

What's your take on this article? Am I reading it wrong, that CR is being passive-aggressively called out on diversity (which is ridiculous, look at your guest list)?
