What about animation layers? I never use more than three. Ideally just one/two. Flatten when happy with adjustments.

I struggle w this as a lead. I know some people like working w layers but it gets counter-productive fast.
The trick is to add a new layer for every polish tweak. Add every control to the layers. Also, make sure to never label them.

I've been doing it wrong: layer 1: "squash." layer 2: "more squash". layer 3: "fix". layer 4: "tweak". layer 5: "fix 2" Currently jobless :p
