I quite like the tone of my Mustang (I put flat-wounds on there too.) Again I'm not a professional though. It is tricky getting to the upper register with that thick Fender neck attachment. It was stuck-at-home boredom buy but I can't keep my hands off of it.
I'm just a hobbyist that doesn't play live butI love my MIM Mustang. If you're interested at all in short scale.
