Vancouver probably has the larger TV industry. Friends in TO said a lot of work left for Montreal. Montreal is much more affordable when it comes to rent. Van & TO are not much diff than LA in cost. I don’t know anything about Ottawa.

I thought TO and Van were reasonably cheaper than LA when factoring in exchange rate and assuming I could pay CAD but be paid in USD. Hmm...

I suppose if you’re paid US. Taxes will be fun. The US requires filing income tax no matter where you live as a US citizen. If you make under something like $103k a year it’s all forgiven though.

I'd owe the US taxes if I was paid more than $103k a year but not if I made less? I have to look into this further haha

Yeah it was confusing as hell. We found a guy in LA licensed in both Ontario and California to our taxes because it was so damn confusing.

Hmmm, it could work out. I think I have a solution already.

I think I know the solution you’re talking about. I wish I could have stayed in Canada sometimes. I was making CAD with US student loans though.

Ouch, sounds rough. I was pretty surprised by the exchange rate. Just start up a new studio in Canada with a parent company in the US.
