If Maya's Time Editor worked with layers I'd use it more often. However, now that I have a better understanding of it, it is super useful for hacking together quick prototype animations.

Yeah I think right now you would need to bake to a new override animation layer then insert it into the time editor or external bake to FBX and then import it into time editor :)
