Must have been such a delicate balancing act to nail that style, could easily be so noisy and unreadable, but they really make it work beautifully!
Admittedly, I don't know anything about rendering techniques. I like how they are achieving DOF. The chromatic aberration in the bg and the split image of Miles in the fg is really cool. I never considered that you could use CA as a way to 'blur' a background.

It could probably be easily distracting. Looks good though. The color choices in this movie look gorgeous.

It looks like some of it is on a combination of 1’s and 2’s giving it a really interesting feel so the contrast is in the smoothness between both
