100 years ago today my great grandfather, Christian Boehm, was wounded in the Battle of Belleau Wood. Erroneously reported KIA, his parents didn't know he was alive until he was back in NJ. Yeah his story is really interesting. My dad also has a newspaper clipping from the time that describes how his parents found out he was still alive.
