    Made a quick reel update with some post-launch Overwatch animation. Happy with my progress in the 2 years after ship. I'm most proud of Sombra 3rd person and Doomfist 1st person. So much more room to grow.

    I think I miiiiiiiiiiight be getting the hang of animating in a teeny bit. Being able to do 2d animatics right in there is pretty nice, I gotta say. made a pretty nice rig, too.

    Man BlizzCon 2014 couldn't be beat. It was my first, just 6 months into working at Blizzard. Watching Metzen announce the project I was on as the first new IP from Blizz in 17 years. Still the highwater mark for me. We'll see what the future holds.

    Totally broke my camera in Maya. Debugging and searching to no avail. Anyone ever break a maya cam set to Aim & Up? It no longer follows the Aim even though its rotation is still constrained to it. Happened after using 2d pan/zoom. No biggie, I can recreate this camera if needed.

    This is often true about film as well. New filmmakers - especially screenwriters, who are usually word-oriented in the first place - too often focus on dialogue over everything else. But ask yourself how you can tell your story visually.

    So when I'm blocking I rough in my root, chest, & head movements. Until I have 60 percent of my idea. (That was yesterday) Today I animate my face to 75 percent. I'm focusing on big clear mouth shapes and timing out eye direction, darts and blinks instead.
