Today’s podcast episode is one I’ve been looking forward to: and on their excellent new book, *Talent*. The episode is here, but a quick thread:

/ I’ve spent a decade obsessed with talent, having spent a decade at identifying founders who went on to build companies worth $10bn, so I was surprised just how much I learned from the book:

/ The big lesson from the book, for me, is that even a massively important market like the market for talent can be wildly inefficient - and the returns to “beating the market” can be vast

/ The ways to “beat the market” in talent are manifold: tap into underrated or marginalised pools; focus your evaluation on the traits that actually matter; explore new ways to “fill your funnel” (like scouting); etc

/ But perhaps the biggest source of “alpha” in talent is in raising the aspirations of talented people ( talked about this before on MR: marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolu)

/ This is our whole thesis at : the world is missing out on some of its best founders! People who have the talent but not the network of co-founders, advisers, encouragers and investors. If that’s you, apply!
