Forget "respectability politics," forget the "politics of division," forget "civility." Let's denormalize these folks and their ideas every single chance we get, including throwing them the hell out of restaurants. Like we should have done *from the very beginning*.
We don't need to ask, like I do in the case of the Civil Rights movement, "what would I have done?" We have the chance to do something and show our true colors *right here and now*. Don't find yourselves explaining to your children that you sat on your hands.
And just as important (or more so, depending on the context), denormalize and call out the journalists and talking-heads that do the normalizing. Kicking Sanders out of a restaurant isn't what "gave us Trump." Equivocating and cowardly pundits did. And will continue to do so.
Trump, TODAY, has a 90% approval rating among Republicans. 90%. We're not going to win their hearts and minds. Instead, let's say: "Screw you and your evil party. You don't speak for us, and you never will. And we're going to stand against you every day and everywhere."

I think advocating for and materially supporting the separation of children from the parents at the border would be a decent bar. I'd go further and say that any vote-grabbing demonization of immigrants would count too.

It's not equivalent. It's to illustrate that Mr. Spears thinks that some people should be prevented from eating in restaurants, and the criteria for exclusion is only known to him. One day he says all humans deserve to be treated humanely the next he says "forget civility".
Bullshit. You need to learn the difference between civility and humanely. Throwing babies into cages is inhumane. Lying about such a policy is inhumane. Being civil to inhumane people is servile. Speaking truth to inhumane people in power is brave.
