I re-found and contacted my younger brother (like you, I don't think of him as a 'half') after a gap of 12 years, when he was 24. It was the best thing I ever did. His girlfriend (now wife) had no idea he had any siblings. It wasn't a smooth ride but he is how part of the family.

Brilliant! I'm so pleased to hear. In the year that I've been researching I've realised so many people have estranged siblings, some of whom they have welcomed into the family, while others remain distant for one reason or another. Glad that stigmas are beginning to fade
