Ya, I always find it odd when a company balks at an “expensive person” with a lot of experience. Like, you do know that the output will be a multiple of someone half the price, with less mistakes, and less coordination cost from hiring many people?

The root of the problem is IMHO that much of such software is almost each one a copy of the other one. Endless forms with little differences, the same backend problems, the same views populating some list of items or a map in the mobile side and so forth.
