    I’m seeing lots of excitement around et al’s NDAA amdt to suspend JDAMs to Israel, but not much attention her other amdt, which theoretically would have even bigger impact on military sales not just to Israel but to the whole region…

    Amdt. 600: Offered by Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), “Prohibits Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) & Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to any country that has engaged in gross violations of internationally recognized human rights, genocide, or war crimes.” IMAGINE impact on Mideast, incl. Israel!

    The faith experts and pundits have in our nation’s covert military drone program is so worrying. The strike in Kabul wasn’t an anomaly. The only leaked data set on drone efficiency suggests we hit the wrong target over 80% of the time. I won’t stop speaking out about this.

    The business model of the pharmaceutical industry is fraud. Their greed is literally killing Americans. They have spent billions buying politicians & several of their executives became billionaires during the pandemic. Their days of calling the shots in DC must come to an end.

    I'm very disappointed in the vote today on prescription drugs by the House Energy and Commerce Committee. I get that the pharmaceutical industry owns the Republican Party and that no Republican voted for this bill, but there is no excuse for every Democrat not supporting it.

    Three centrist House Dems threw their party's health care agenda into disarray today by blocking a plan that would have authorized direct government negotiation of drug prices and help pay for a $3.5 trillion social spending bill

    This is a glorious buffet of delectable lines but tonight I will be dining on "to Lawrence’s credit, unlike every other neocon, he eventually had the decency to retire from public life."

    It was a real honor to interview for the newsletter. We talked about Reign of Terror, of course, but also about his upbringing in Jewish Brooklyn, his strained relationship with Zionism, and his experiences at Peretz-era TNR.

    Also kind of a problem that another prominent foreign policy commentator is literally a paid employee of a Gulf dictatorship.

    NEW: Biden ally and his firm TRG Advisory have signed a new contract with the United Arab Emirates. It's a three year deal that will end up making the consulting firm at least $1.6 million. That's $540,000 each year from 2021 into 2024.
