I know gamers don’t understand the economics of games at all, but we would get more games if the store margins were lower. You could break even on less copies sold, which would get more game projects funded.

Publisher/platform owners like Epic/Oculus/PSVR that have incentive to scout, curate, and fund high quality games for their platform that drive adoption. More breakeven means more money to fund devs. One of the best attractors to a platform is compelling content.
