This is gonna be very interesting for recipe sites, and all the news sites (not even gaming sites!) that choose a hot new game and write 500 micro articles, each for one common question and then padded out with 750 words of general bullshit.

This week Google will release the new Helpful Content algorithm update, specifically targeted to de-rank sites that create content purely for SEO. It is going to absolutely destroy a large chunk of the #videogame publications that rewrite content and create How Tos that are spam.

🎬🧵 What happened to The Movies? I looked at the top 2100 domestic box office films of the last 42 years to find out. Here are some findings. For one: more sequels & comic book movies. In 1981, just 16% of Top-25 movies were sequels, spinoffs, or remakes. In 2019, 80% were.

Feels like artists on Instagram had the comic format down pat, and now get forced to make Reels to get any kind of engagement. Comics aren’t movies. Comics are comics for a reason.

It's clear that the ruleset updates needed to happen, mostly because certain things (Pokemon Center access at all times) meant no tension. I rarely needed to heal in battle due to Leftovers. STAB Surf is OP. But it's still a fun place to start.

I had a lot of fun doing this; I'm still beaming that I beat it in a reasonable amount of attempts (#201). Won't be tackling the other rulesets any time soon, but may in the future.

4: We used an item guide that had Leftovers in this spot, so I consider it "canon." Our Pokemon was hella beefy, and we got 30+ HP/turn by the time the run way over.
