Yeah, it wasn't without issues. YouTube support helped me work through them though.

I went through this same process last year, and I could have gotten my old URL back, but I wanted to change and was able to do so. I lost some comments which wasn't ideal, but all in all it was a good (mostly pain free) move.

YouTube is horrible about the custom URL. It's the worst ! When you got one, you can never change or transfer it... Completely crazy in 2019, especially for a company like Google...

Proceed with caution. I lost my custom URL for 2 weeks when I moved to a brand account. Was told “you were warned.” Eventually got it back.
