@DGStephenson but the security key is different than a normal YubiKey (I think). Here's where you can buy one: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=FIDO%20U2F%20Security%20Key … - Show replies

@dangillmor good in conjunction with normal 2-step/Google Authenticator. But yes, it's much better protection against being phished. -
@mattcutts@dangillmor unless you are phishing yourself.

@mattcutts how come it's secure if it's based on an open standard? -
@siddhantdesai not sure if you're joking, but I believe the answer is cryptography. :) - Show replies

@dangillmor@mattcutts now that I just have my consumer Gmail account, I use Android two-factor app and "remember this computer". -
@jhamby@dangillmor and that takes care of most threats. Two-factor apps don't completely solve phishing (esp. targeted phishing) though. - Show replies

@mattcutts 'U2F seems structurally OK. But some of the crypto details are worrysome' -> http://jbp.io/2014/10/21/u2f-public-comments/ … -
@SimonZerafa thanks for pointing that out. I don't speak crypto fluently, but I passed on the link to the team. - Show replies
