@mattcutts Honestly, who does *not* use 2fa? (Are there any published numbers? Just curious.)

@mathiasmaul Tons of tech-savvy folks use 2fa, but it's still less common than it should be. :( - Show replies

@limbclock you don't have to use SMS. You can run a program on your phone & don't need internet/SMS to authenticate.

@limbclock correct. Authenticator doesn't need an internet connection to work.

@mattcutts I do use 2-factor and I was STILL among the hacked. so? -
@daveixd it wouldn't have stopped the Twitter hack. However, the Twitter hackers now have your email addr. You're at higher risk in future.

@mattcutts I have twitter and gmail with 2-factor auth... still got "compromised" with random 12-char pwd. -
@deadeyes on Twitter or Gmail? Twitter is completely separate. But for ppl hacked on Twitter, now they have your email addr. :( - Show replies

@mattcutts I don't get the link between being one of the 250k and Gmail. Surely you're not using the same password both places(?) -
@ocell nope, but the Twitter incident leaked ppl's emails, which puts them at higher risk for future hacks. - Show replies
