it's perlin noise plus a famous painting. the noise selects the pixels to take from the original.

perlin noise. basically i calculate two perlin noise fields which are in (-1,1) and then i use that as an x and y to choose a pixel from the original image. here's a perlin noise of 2 octavespic.twitter.com/PKGPQ49Rsu
