🍬 Announcing treat v1.0.0! I’m super excited to share what I’ve been working on for the past several months. Themeable, statically extracted CSS‑in‑JS with near‑zero runtime, including first class support for TypeScript and React.

Now this is something that’s refreshing to see. Statically exported css in js. Finally it might be worth trying css in js

But the value in handing-off disposable artefacts is capped, regardless of how "good" they are. Why not hand-off the actual, working thing? Why settle for handing-off a representation of the thing?

So many people tell me to use rem for font size instead of px, but that assumes I have control over the root html element. Our components get deployed to projects owned by other teams, including legacy apps with existing styles. CSS simply wasn't designed for this kind of scale.

Suspense allows us to design loading/transition states separately from the actual async code. This unlocks massive optimisation potential. Why am I deciding what components should be dynamically imported? Surely the bundler should just work it out for me?

After digesting all the new react Suspense stuff, it seems to me that everyone got the fetching model wrong. Data fetching, doesn't belong in the render layer. If anything it's more coupled to the router. Haven't seen any current libraries that handle this well.

Every design system talk ever: "Regular global CSS is great! But we needed something more scalable for our requirements." Wonder when we can stop pretending global CSS is a good option? 🤔

Most CSS-in-JS libraries focus on making it easier to write CSS. Instead, I think we should focus on making CSS more reusable, and therefore write less of it.

Pro Tip: You can alias `any` in TypeScript within a .d.ts file to make your rationale for using it more explicit: type FixMe = any type ToDo = any type Inexpressible = any type NotWorthIt = any type FuckIt = any

I've been using for a personal project and for me, it's the best CSS-in-JS solution I've used so far. Really well thought-out with great performance. Extremely easy to set up. Kudos, and !
