The only requisite given for baptism is faith, which you would argue is found in the believing parent and can be attributed to the child (a-la Abraham and circumcision)?

For both sacraments, they are signs and seals of distinct things that we enjoy with our union with Christ. We do not unite ourselves to Christ. God unites us to Christ, they’re his act of grace toward us, not pledges we make to God...
