I dislike the concept that history will be some kind of eventual savior. They do not care how history treats them, and they are counting on their power eventually being perpetual, which they may approximate.

It’s not our savior, but that doesn’t mean that the judgement of history is valueless.

That said, it didn't go entirely as expected. I was thinking GOP members would try and find some excuse to claim innocence, but instead they're outright admitting he's guilty and trying to find some excuse not to vote that way.
