Your comments about airline fares is interesting. Airlines are one of the last markets that aren't rationale. Plane tickets go up closer to departure instead of go down even if the seat will fly empty. In the future, my guess is 1 airline like RyanAir will start selling (cont.)

all their tickets at say 10% profit margin but allow online travel agencies like Google Flights or Kayak to buy those tickets and re-sell them at a profit (like Stubhub). Airline gets fixed revenue and can make money on ancillary up-sell like luggage and tech companies (cont.)

can use their big data to predict correct airfare price decay. Once one airline does this, others will follow just like they did for basic economy fares and airfare market will finally become rationale & efficient. Thoughts?

I always read, "who controls a company?" as kind of a kōan; "Two board members agree & mgmt comp is set. What is mgmt comp set by one board member?" But I'm beginning to think the simple answer is that lawyers extract all surplus value and in that way "control" the company.
