well, the only thing you can do is to keep fixing the bridges when they break; either for XMPP or Matrix.

Have you seen http://spectrum.im/ ? They started as an XMPP transport library then added slack, maybe useful for matrix?

yup, used to run spectrum pre-Matrix :) haven't checked it recently, but with xmpp<->matrix we could use spectrum-hosted gw's.

we're waiting for someone to do an NNTP bridge :) there are about 4 XMPP bridges, and 3 SIP. no POTS & ntalk tho..

actually, the Matrix DAG is deliberately eventually consistent: so NNTP's lagginess and eventual consistency is actually a good fit!

how does Matrix resolve out-of-order issues? Does one ordering win, or do nodes agree to note the conflict? Or something else?
