Fascinating chart from shows how inflation-adjusted public teacher salaries have gone down in the great majority of states.

Thank you for sharing this info and also for stating student class size in terms of instructional time a teacher can give an individual student. Society cannot afford the cost of failing to treat its teachers and students fairly.

Nice analysis. I really enjoy reading blogs that discuss and display different data visualization techniques for the same data. Hope you're having a great week!

And yet many online learning platforms restrict the amount of time a student takes on exams. What is being tested most in an online platform... a student's ability to type.

ALL YOUR REPS ARE HOME — Show up at their office, bring some friends, ask for a public town hall... if they decline, make sure to invite whoever is running against them and your local media!

Excellent reference to Maslow's hierarchy of needs! So much of politics makes sense if it is viewed through that lens. Thank you for sharing your pictures, it's encouraging to see the turnout in Scranton. (I grew up in NEPA and went to school at Western Wayne.)

My barrage of photos has concluded. Overall I am very encouraged that the youth is collectively asking questions about campaign finance, listing specific public policy agenda items, and encouraging everyone to register and vote.

One of the better crowd photos I was able to obtain by holding the camera as high as possible above my head. I was at 12th and Pennsylvania, at the very end of the march site.

These volunteers were EVERYWHERE. I talked to a lot of people at the march and many said they were already registered or planed on registering soon. More than that, they will vote in the all-important *PRIMARY* elections ahead of Nov 6th.

I am VERY encouraged by the students focusing on the relationship between: campaign finance --> public policy --> public life. They are asking difficult questions and not backing down when they find uncomfortable answers. They plan on voting.

This doctor has treated gunshot wounds. This article about the differences in high-velocity gunshot wounds vs. "normal" wounds pairs well with the image.

Every name on this list is a person who lost their life due to gun violence. It's not comprehensive. My heart sinks like a stone to imagine even one of these names belonging to someone I know or love. The reality of this is tragic & urgent.

It is critically important for everyone, on all sides, to question the sources of campaign finance for your elected representatives on all issues. Yesterday's march focused on lives lost to guns, so this is about gun legislation.

As a career educator, I applaud the youth for their courage, coordination, and clear articulation of public policy. ( ) I am proud to stand with them today (and tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow) at the DC .

I am extraordinary encouraged that has not one but TWO pages about voting. The action will continue past tomorrow. 1) Register yourself: 2) Help others register:
