At today’s TC39 meeting, #SmooshGate was resolved by renaming `flatten` to `flat`.

Yeah not arguing that, you referenced a popular, actively maintained website in the link. How many sites are actually using MooTools + flatten that are ancient?
Too many. Not breaking the web is a bad argument anyway, since browser vendors do it constantly. Like @googlechrome made pretty much every event listener passive on mobile, unless passive is explicitly marked false. And addEventListener didn't accept options some years ago.
