@mathias I have a client that sends some XML to a server, like <name>SomeName®</name> but what ends up stored in my DB is: SomeName®. Help?
Make sure your database, as well as the connection to it, is using UTF-8.

Thanks. Forgot to mention the Android client app has no issues. Only the iOS app. Could it be that iOS isn't encoding the XML post as UTF8?

To be honest there’s a lot of context missing—hard for me to say what is going on exactly. But it’s definitely some kind of encoding issue.

As far as I can tell the iOS XML is properly encoded but I'm probably missing something else.
