if the alpha value of literally any single pixel in an image is not 255, twitter won't jpeg compress it
Is this true for all PNGs (even non-transparent ones)? Valerie’s tweet seems to imply that’s not the case (but I haven’t tested)

only transparent pngs, where "transparent" means "has any pixels that are not 100% opaque"
