Is there an existing resource that lists emphasis markers by language/script? For example it could be italics for English but dots/lines/quotes/spacing for Japanese.

For [non-markup] emphasis marks/punctuation in Unicode, what you might do is check: http://unicode.org/Public/13.0.0/ucd/ … Scripts.txt ScriptExtensions.txt (described here: https://unicode.org/reports/tr24/ ) Which lists all codepoints used by each script. And filter for general category M*/P*/S*pic.twitter.com/YQH8Kj7SRB
