For RegExp Unicode property escapes, the auto-updating behavior is actually a feature! Once a browser updates its Unicode version and learns about a new character in the Greek script, \p{Script=Greek} will match that new character.
You're right, on second thought I see these features rather handy and not disrupting. I've had to spend some time to wrap my head around it.
