<source> doesn’t seem as useful for <script> as it is for <picture> and <video>, where different `type`s for the same resource co-exist. Scripts already handle this through nomodule, so I think we can avoid it here.
<picture> often uses it for the same type, but different media queries, which seems pretty close to JS versioning, and potentially even extendable to support more granular feature queries.
