It's not a thing (yet). Let's wait till Node makes a big mistake before spreading the pain of that possible result amongst the browser ecosystem.
It *is* already a thing, though. Node.js supports it, and per https://github.com/nodejs/modules/pull/180 … .mjs will continue to be supported in the future. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to, but tooling must be aware that .mjs exists. It’s great to see some new libraries raise awareness.
