Is this something we should optimise for if we're building a compiler? I mean, is v8 going to achieve the performance of just having 2 values separate? Asking because I'm building ecmacomp

The less *you* optimize for it in your compiler, the more you encourage us to make it faster in V8. I prefer the world where only JS engines have to worry about optimizations at this level, instead of all compile-to-JS tooling.

Nice, but I wouldn't be so fast with react hooks, they look cool but there are issues, like not being able to peek in (anonymous) state and no real answer to testing.
