While Ed Sec. Betsy DeVos continues to coddle for-profit colleges, students are being buried in debt and taxpayers end up holding the bag. Thanks to Madigan for fighting for students.

Trump admitted in last cabinet meeting that he doesn’t pay contractors until work is done, and only if it’s good work. That’s how he cheats vendors, he says their work is subpar and dares them to sue, knowing they can’t afford to sue. He’s a CON.

Remember "the elite" are people who don't share your prejudices and who won't coddle your imaginary resentments.

I am just shaking my head. How can anyone who "needs" public aid contemplate voting for Trump or ANY Republican? I just don't get it.

Maybe Pelosi can offer Trump this kit?

Yep.. and I'll add to this: male silverbacks don't take kindly to young male upstarts popping off right from the start either.

With the spotlight comes the heat. Every political biography I've read discusses this; some athlete biographies discuss this too. Having words blown out of proportion is all part of it. I hope she accepts mentoring from more seasoned politicians on how to deal with this.

Remember 's comment about how many factions the D's have and how they really don't like each other? There is truth in that; this is one reason that some of what works for R's won't work for D's.

Exactly. And if the Democrats become a "Blue Rube Nation" I'll have no place to go. This is why I do not want to elect leftist Sarah Palins.

By the way, members of Congress saying stupid things in public is nothing new, nor was it ever exclusively Republican.

Nope. I'll call it out, but the GOP should look inward. They won't because hypocrisy is in their toolbox.

Yes.. though I am unimpressed with public vulgarity from politicians, THEY are in no position to throw stones.

With 800,000 federal workers furloughed or working w/o pay -- incl. at our airports & the Peoria Ag Lab -- the Trump Admin. is preparing to dole out raises for senior officials that are 1/4 of what the average person makes in our region. This is absurd!

One big problem with the idea of a 70 percent income bracket: there is nothing like WW2 to rally around (climate change *should* be but isn't) and R/D's don't split much according to income. Tough sell, even if we win the Senate in 2020.
