You know, this piece on energy justice is best I've read. Closely matches my own thoughts & motivations.

"When the $1.2 billion is spent (in 2024), at least 5,700 homeless people, including families, are expected to be housed. That would still leave out at least 30,000 homeless people in the city." Gonna take 20 years to house the homeless at this pace.

I expect Pt. San Quentin parking lot will soon fill up with angry drivers throwing rocks into the bay, or something, to protest its "zero compromise" view to their commute Or they could, you know, pressure Marin to build housing and transit but LOL nah this California

That thing where you blame bicycle and clean transport advocates for the presence of a large body of water (the San Francisco Bay) that physically constrains your bridge to two lanes at one end, making the third lane useless for "reducing traffic." Drivers are a trip, man.

I really cannot emphasize enough that the auto industry's own marketing research has identified SUV buyers as profound assholes

I wrote about the electric Hummer, the history of car companies marketing SUVs specifically for assholes, and why we can't tackle the climate crisis without also tackling our culture of conspicuous overconsumption

Should go without saying: reporters of color shouldn't have their jobs threatened for speaking out about mainstream media failures to properly cover and contextualize issues of race. What's the point of bringing diverse experiences and voices into a room only to muzzle them?

⚫Between 2010 & 2016, Marin added 20 new jobs for every 1 new home permitted ⚫Between 2015 & 2017 Marin satisfied 19% of their RHNA; building only *26* publicly financed affordable homes Both ratios were the worst in the Bay Area The solution is homes, not killing our climate

One of the reasons YIMBYs are here is to give heart to people who've been beaten into complacence by NIMBYs. 4.5 years ago, ADU's were a "political third rail." Now they're legal in every backyard. What else can we accomplish when we fight NIMBYism?

This was a new one, even for me: Obama caused the housing crisis. There is so much work to do to help people understand why housing is so unaffordable.

gee i wonder if it's actually the bike lane that "caused" the traffic or ... maybe it's that "In the past decade, a million more vehicles have merged in." what is geometry and why do it hate me so

Marin County built so little housing in past 4 decades that children who grow up there can’t live there. Marin County has built so little housing that nearly 70% of its workers commute from other counties. Marin County claims to be climate friendly. Don’t be like Marin County

“More lanes” isn’t going to fix congestion. So I’m ready to stand with teachers, construction workers, landscapers, and others to demand more housing & affordability in Marin, reducing the need for arduous transbay commutes in the first place.

As everyone knows, there was never traffic in the Bay Area until this bridge got a bike lane.

As I told in this piece about the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge: the transportation challenges we face are not “teachers vs ” but the product of up-stream choices by electeds about -jobs balance, people-centric infrastructure, and .

Yesterday: 3.700 people died, 40.000-80.000 severely injured. Not , just daily traffic. Today again, tomorrow again, and the day after.... This just one of many stories:

It's kind of incredible that Trump will just make up crazy slanders about his opponents and the response from Dems is "my heavens! How rude" and not "Trump paid for a mistress's abortion"
