Ah! Makes much more sense. I was worried they were just the design of the background. It would make distinguishing background and foreground hard. Worms battle islands made this terrible mistake lol your game already looks like a fun twinstick though!

Don't listen to him. Crimsonland background was littered with the dead. It obscured vision somewhat, but totally added to the crazyness and carnage.

I'm still thinking of different things, but I considered having a time where two bright lines would cross the screen and 'wipe/disintegrate' the pixels, like a big scanner light bar.
