Some aspects of Doom 3 have not aged well (the annoying attacks without reprieve, the face textures) but man the nostalgia trip is strong. Remember kids, the flashlight wasn’t always connected to your body.

Yeah definitely, especially when looking at the rest of the Doom series it really has it's own feel; considering Doom 4 eventually morphed into a more "rebooted" form of the classic rather than the initially teased horror sequel.
