Finished The Evil Within 2. The original is still my favorite, but some of the game design in 2 is way better. I don’t really care for ‘open world’ stealth, sometimes it just feels tedious. But 2 has an awesome final act.
I’m realizing I don’t like slow paced stealth as much as I used to. I prefer linear levels with multiple routes with provided stealth based powers. Evil Within is really survival stealth, not ‘power fantasy’ stealth.
Also, I knew about Stefano (the artist antagonist) going into the game but never expected where the story went, I expected him to be more an antagonist for the whole game. Overall I didn’t find the game scary at all, though almost consistently tense due to the survival elements.
