The more I play Horizon Zero Dawn the less I feel I understand the combat. I feel like I’m missing something important that helps, or I’m under leveled, or the game is just supposed to be super difficult at points.

I just fought a boss that after 30 min of trying I finally beat, and it was a 10 min fight of widdling away health. Is my bow under powered? Am I under powered? Is this intentional? I feel like I understand the general systems but maybe I’m missing something.
