Things I never wanna do ever again in games:
craft consumable items
repair my degrading gear
find "recipes"
use [currency] to unlock [random thing]
I skip A LOT of games because I just don't give a shit. What are some features you could live without?

As a player I dislike these things, as a developer they're so satisfying to make haha. I actually think that's why they're found in so many games because they're systems that can be programmed quickly and loaded with 'content'.

From a programmer's perspective I do, because of how they can be broken down into conceptual generics (Recipe, Craft Station, Ingredient, etc). It's satisfying (imo) to get those classes/objects built and working together; while being extendable.

But that has little to do with their eventual design balance or sense of 'fun' in the game. :)
