Sometimes when I’m using RPG Maker I feel like I’ve ‘de-volved’ as a developer. Like I’ve make FPS stuff from scratch, infinite runners in Unity; and now scripting the most basic of things in an engine ‘for people who don’t know how to program’.

It’s a tool like any other, I wouldn’t feel it like devolving, I’ve made stuff in tools like Flickgame which are distant from being sophisticated :P

The real test of skill and ability is how you can create quality content with whatever tool you're using. Pushing what you create to the point where people get surprised by the tool you used. Tools are tools, it's what you do with it is what matters. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
