Started playing Mario Kart 8 again to try to grind out the full stars and unlock everything. Idk why but the progression system in this game and most non-story, first party Nintendo titles just feels shallow to me. It's like a real thin progression tacked onto an arcade game.

Idk, I guess not. Maybe more surprised/analytical about why the progression system that is there doesn't feel as rewarding as I'd like it. It's made me think of why that is and what might make it feel better.

Maybe attach it to a game with more consequence? Mario Kart is not exactly Nintendo's most tightly designed experience
