Having an artist do that whole art part of the game is actually so much nicer. If only there were artists on the internet that needed a programmer. (This is kind of a joke, unless you got a cool idea and want to make a Unity game)
Sometimes I just see dev's stuff online and am like 'damn, I wish I could just help them to give them a hand and get their projects done faster'. Recently thought this about @sinclairstrange , @uberprawn , etc.
Saying that though I am very very busy currently so I'm prolly not the best person to start a project with haha :P
Haha no worries dude. I have a project of my own I should really finish; I just work with an artist at my day job and enjoy the way that works but feel my personal dev stuff (while having ‘ok’ art) would be so much more fun and less stressful with art support haha.
I definitely partly do the solo thing to myself. I just really enjoy doing art, programming, music, etc! I feel like I'm slow with making games because I spend most of my time doing freelance work to pay the bills. :(
I enjoy doing the art and music part when it turns out well but feel like I usually am more frustrated by it than happy with it if I’m struggling. It’s almost weird for me to think of personal projects with the thought ‘I don’t have to do this solo’.
Iirc I think @Newgrounds has a cool pairing thing where you can look for people who need certain things. I'm starting to turn more into freelance than personal projects currently because it's just easier but hit me up if you wanna possibly look into design something together!
