Oh, shovel knight is coop? I've been pretty much exclusively playing couch coops for PS4 - a lot of them - this past year :P
Is it? It could be. I kind of stopped understanding what they did after they made it into like 3 games in one so now there's all kinds of content in there that I don't really know about yet (part of why I got it).

It seems like they included it in the game trailer as an afterthought, so maybe it's not a full feature.
